We are looking for a Senior Transmission Engineering Data Analyst for our prestigious telecom client based in Reading. Transmission Services has end to end responsibility for the design, planning, deployment, and in-life management of access Tx solutions (MW & Ethernet fibre) to support client’s shareholder (EE/BT and Three) mobile broadband networks.

What you can expect to be doing:

• Apply strong data analytical skills and insights to Tx In-Life management
• Be a technical lead for In-Life reporting of Tx equipment and systems
• Ensuring business has access to comprehensive regular reports and data sources on capacity and performance
• Ensuring reporting requirements are included and delivered as part of new Tx equipment/systems/designs.
• Forecasting transmission capacity requirements and supporting the capex budgeting process
• Ensuring transmission capacity is planned and deployed to meet requirements
• Challenge the status quo, keep abreast of the external market, and use this to drive improvements, continuous improvements, and learning
• Working with multiple data sources and different formats and inherent data quality issues
• Modelling the forecasted capacity and budget required against background of evolving network design and mobile customer behaviours
• Maintaining robust capacity planning processes against a background of changing shareholder requirements, evolving network design and supplier capabilities

What we are looking for:

• University/College degree or degree calibre
• Strong IT skills: eg manipulating large data sets in Excel
• Data analyst skills
• Being proactive: taking the lead, stepping outside own role, and going the extra mile when required
• Innovative: figuring out new/original ways of tackling challenges
• Telecommunications or Transmission Engineering experience
• Experience with MS Power BI or Tableau applications
• Experience with leased line and radio Ethernet/IP transmission technology and systems
• Programming language experience for data analysis
