Job title: Psychology Graduate Mental Health – Education and Training
Company: Academics
Job description: This Learning Support Assistant role is ideal for an individual who has aspirations within Psychology, Youth, Social and Criminal Justice. If you have personal experience within a Mental Health Environment or one surrounded by Special Educational Needs, this sincerity for your objectives will aid you when working with students with Autism and Complex Social needs.
This Psychology Graduate Mental Health Woking LSA role will be in a specialist provision for primary and secondary aged students, all who have autism and associated conditions. There are no quick fixes here, if you have a utopian idea of being able to ‘save’ every student, you will not succeed. You may help plant ideas that you will not see the full, positive effects or end results from, know that they are there and will happen. The school will offer an incredibly diverse curriculum, tailored for each student.
Understanding the dichotomies, diversity and cultural effects on mental health in an area like Woking, is vital to being able to have the stoic and durability nature to thrive in this role. Maintaining behaviour of the students, where possible and raising academic achievement, can be difficult.
Many of the students will be incredibly charismatic, your days will fly by quickly and you will not know where the day has gone. At the same token, in an environment where a lot of the student’s Mental Health is incredibly vulnerable, you will have to be very patient and focus on the student’s skills for life.
