Job Vacancy Graphic Design Internship (6-12 months) Innovia Technology

Job title: Graphic Design Internship (6-12 months)

Company: Innovia Technology

Job description: Design at Innovia

Innovia is an exciting workplace for designers: the diversity of our projects provides opportunities to be involved in the creation and development of breakthroughs in FMCG, food and beverage, medical, transportation, retail, point-of-sale, packaging, apparel, home appliances and consumer electronics.

‘Front end innovation’ is the very start of the next new thing. Our work focuses on the ideation, experimentation, concept testing and development stages of new products, services, or solutions.

Designers play a key role in our multidisciplinary teams – where each specialist brings insight from their field to create and communicate well-rounded solutions that help our global clients outcompete their rivals.

The Opportunity

On an internship you’ll get to work on live projects with other specialists whose background may be in organic chemistry, public health, theoretical physics, business strategy, chemical engineering, veterinary medicine, psychology, and many other fields – giving you opportunities to greatly expand your thinking and gain insight into many different client companies and sectors.

We offer training to interns to make it easier to bridge the gap between studying and working – so no previous experience in consulting is necessary.

Key Activities:

  • Bringing your design skills and creativity to innovation challenges
  • Working collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams on different projects
  • Using graphic design to communicate ideas, concepts, and create a narrative that inspires and informs clients
  • Bringing ideas to life through data visualisation, infographic design and rapid concept mock-ups
  • Creating assets for videos and simple animations to show concepts and their features clearly
  • Helping to structure and create presentations for clients and clearly communicating deliverables
  • Supporting Innovia’s sales and marketing teams by designing engaging graphical media for print and digital platforms

The Candidate

We are looking for a recent graduate or a current undergraduate student (who has completed the first 2 years of their course) in a Graphic Design degree.

Our ideal candidate will be proactive and able to work independently, keen to apply their skills to all areas and industries that they can and will be able to talk thoughtfully about different design processes and approaches.

  • A portfolio with a structured design process which shows how you think about problems and iterate ideas (i.e. we’d like to see your process stages and the reasons for your decisions in addition to the end result)
  • Exceptional layout skills and creative thinking
  • Very good verbal communication skills, timekeeping and task management capabilities
  • Good understanding of Indesign / Illustrator and Photoshop programs
  • An interest in applying your creativity across a wide range of industries, products, or media

  • Experience in putting together short videos and/or animation
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Print understanding and artworking skills

Please let us know in your application, whether you wish to complete a 6 or 12 month placement.
